• EP Background
The matter of protecting and sustainable using our environment continuously and effectively has solemnly become a global concerned issue. The European Parliament and Council have continually bulletined Directives, such as WEEE: Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and subsequent amendments ; RoHS: Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment and subsequent amendments ; PFOS: Directive 2006/122/EC relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of perfluorooctane sulfonates(PFOS) (amending for the 30th time Directive 76/769/EEC), and REACH: the EU Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals ( will replace 76/769/EEC and its amendments on June 1, 2009) since 2002,to reduce the influence on environment from hazard substance from electronic equipments. Besides, it is becoming a worldwide trend to eliminate the use of halogenated substances that are harmful to the environment, according to the HF Requirement : IEC 61249-2-21 established by the International Electrotechnical Commission. Furthermore, China RoHS: Regulation for Pollution Control of Electronic Information Products and its subsequent standards also earns quite attention recently.

Consequently above, for orientating this worldwide trend and operating in coordination of our customers’ requirements, World Peace Industrial Co., Ltd. and its affiliates (collectively referred to as the “WPI Group”) established this EP Strategy Website as a platform for our customers to obtain the information of material content.
