WPG (3702 TT) Reports the Fourth Quarter 2011 Consolidated Sales of NT$ 82.19 Billion

WPG, the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia, reported December 2011 consolidated sales of NT$26.67 billion. The consolidated revenue of the fourth quarter reached NT$82.2 billion, in line with the expectation of NT$79~83 billion. The 2011 sales reached NT$332.41 billion, a 29% increase in comparison with 2010.
The revenue growth has been delivered by emerging market expansion and continues product mix optimization, the sales momentum of smartphone, wireless broadband and tablet PC was good, in addition to original 3C electronics market, we have been cultivating the business in the non-3C areas, such as automobile and industrial electronics.
Driven by China’s 12th Five-Year Plan, WPG has expanded its business fields to the new strategic industries in China, such as medical electronics, energy-saving and environment-friendly new-generation IT, and high-end equipment manufacturing. Moreover, the sales in mobile IC and COE (central office equipment) has been stimulated by the development of China’s new-generation Internet, three-network convergence, cloud computing and wireless communication.
The sales breakdowns by regions of WPG are 78% from China (incl. HK), 13% from Taiwan, 7% from ASEAN and 2% from others.
