WPG Holdings Limited (3702 TT) announces its 100%-owned subsidiary, Silicon Application Corporation, reached the deal with a Hong Kong-based distributor, Wintek Technology Investment (China) Ltd., to acquire its electronic components business in cash

WPG Holdings Limited (3702 TT) announced its 100%-owned subsidiary, Silicon Application Corporation, reached the deal with a Hong Kong-based distributor, Wintek Technology Investment (China) Ltd. (Wintek), to acquire its electronic components business in cash. The deal will enhance WPG’s business, with penetration into new market segments in China, with broadened product offering in STB controller IC, CIS and memory.
Wintek was established in 2003 with a total of 21 employees. Its recent annual revenue was around US$12 Million. The main business segments include Set Top Box and Mobile Internet Device. Wintek’s key product lines include Novatek, Winbond and Uvchip. With this acquisition, WPG plans to enhance the operation scale of the newly acquired product lines, by leveraging its marketing and logistics support platform in China, to provide “one-stop shopping” to better fulfill the needs of all customers.
