With 3C product demand growth in emerging market, WPG, (the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia) announces March 2008 consolidated sales of NT$12.34 billion, and YTD 08 consolidated sales of NT$34.55 billion, respectively representing a 17% and a 24% YoY increase.
WPG, a full footprint in Asia with over 100 authorized semiconductor component suppliers 4 main warehouses, 32 branch offices and more than 1500 sales related personnel in the region; Trans-national marketing, sales and supply chain; Design-win, technical support & olution provider?culture to supports OEM/ODM clients in Asia-Pacific especially China emerging markets. Based on mentioned above, 2008 sales breakdown by product application was as follows: 36% from computer, 25% from communication, 26% from consumer, 13% from others. Other than Mobile Phone, Apple i-Phone, Notebook PC and Networking, WPG continually provide the total solution for touch panel in passive and active components, LEDtc. in different application area. WPG will keep in the leading position in the Asia-Pacific marketplace.
Sales growth is mainly driven by the Asia Pacific and China emerging domestic markets. Year-to-date sales breakdown by region was as follows: 67% from China (incl. HK), 22% from Taiwan, 10% from ASEAN.
Year-to-Date sales breakdown by product category was as follows: 47% from core chips (CPU, MPU, chipsets), 32% from standard chips (logic, analog/linear, discrete and ASSP), 9% from memory chips (DRAM, SRAM, Flash, EEPROM), and 12% from others.
