Semiconductor Distributor - WPG (TSE:3702) Announces October 2007 Consolidated Sales of TW$13.85 billion (US$420 Million)

With NB, network, and handset-related products still benefiting from the hot season and customer requests for deliveries in September for the long vacation in mainland China, WPG, (the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia,) announces October 07 consolidated sales of NT$13.85 billion, and YTD 07 consolidated sales of NT$118 billion, respectively representing a 36% and a 21% YoY increase.
WPG, with over 100 semiconductor component product lines, in excess of 1200 marketing, design-in and business service employees working from 33 business service centers, fully strong supports to OEM/ODM clients in Asia-Pacific area and China emerging domestic markets. Other than Mobile Phone, Notebook PC and Networking, the shipment of i-Phone, LCD TV, Photo Framer, Green Energy, Small/medium-size TFT Panel and MCU applied to electronic appliance continually grow. WPG will keep in the leading position in the Asia-Pacific marketplace.
Sales growth is mainly driven by the Asia Pacific and China emerging domestic markets. Year-to-date sales breakdown by region was as follows: 67% from China (incl. HK), 23% from Taiwan, 10% from ASEAN.
Year-to-Date sales breakdown by product category was as follows: 44% from core chips (CPU, MPU, chipsets), 31% from standard chips (logic, analog/linear, discrete and ASSP), 14% from memory chips (DRAM, SRAM, Flash, EEPROM), and 11% from others.
