Semiconductor Distributor - WPG (TSE:3702) Announces July 2007 Consolidated Sales of TW$12.654 billion (US$384 Million)

WPG, the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia, posted record-high sales of TW$12.654 billion (approximately US$384 million) for the month of July 2007. For the continued sales growth of China branded handset and consumer electronic products and incoming hot season of NB and Network products, the consolidated sales respectively represented a 14% M/m and a 37% Y/Y increase. Year-to-Date consolidated sales reported TW$73.678 billion (approximately US$2.233 billion), representing a 15% Y/Y increase. Outstanding sales growth will be expectable in Q3.
For the sales growth of handset and consumer electronic products, over 60% of shipment sales were from China. Year-to-Date sales breakdown by regions was as follows: 67% from China (incl. HK), 23% from Taiwan, 10% from Asean. Sales percentage of Korea is still in a small portion but grow rapidly.
Year-to-Date sales breakdown by product category was as follows: 44% from core chips (CPU, MPU, chipsets), 32% from standard chips (logic, analog/linear, discrete and ASSP), 14% from memory chips (DRAM, SRAM, Flash, EEPROM), and 11% from others.
