Semiconductor Distributor - WPG (TSE:3702) Announces 2nd Quarter 2007 Consolidated Sales of NT$33.03billion (US$1billion), represented a historical quarterly record high

WPG, the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia, posted consolidated sales of TW$11.12 billion (approximately US$337 million) for the month of June 2007. For the continued sales growth of China branded handset and consumer electronic products, the consolidated sales represented a 22% Y/Y increase. Second quarter consolidated sales was TW$33.03billion, represented an 18% M/M and a 23% Y/Y increase respectively. Consolidated sales of 1H 2007 was TW$61.08billion (approximately US$1,850 million).

For the sales growth of handset and consumer electronic products, over 60% of shipment sales were from China. Year-to-Date sales breakdown by regions was as follows: 67.2% from China (incl. HK), 22.3% from Taiwan, 10.1% from Asean and 0.4% from Korea.

Year-to-Date sales breakdown by product category was as follows: 44% from core chips (CPU, MPU, chipsets), 32% from standard chips (logic, analog/linear, discrete and ASSP), 14% from memory chips (DRAM, SRAM, Flash, EEPROM), and 10% from others.
