Semiconductor Distributor - WPG (TSE:3702) Announces April 2007 Consolidated Sales of NT$11.39billion (US$345 Million), represented a 22% Y/Y increase.

WPG, the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia, posted consolidated sales of TW$11.39 billion (approximately US$345 million) for the month of April 2007. For the continued sales growth of China branded handset and consumer electronic products, the consolidated sales represented an 8% M/M increase and a 22% Y/Y increase. Year-to-Date consolidated sales of April 2007 was TW$39.39billion (approximately US$1,195 million).

For the sales growth of handset and consumer electronic products, over 60% of shipment sales were from China. Year-to-Date sales breakdown by regions was as follows: 67.7% from China (incl. HK), 22.6% from Taiwan, 9.3% from Asean and 0.4% from Korea.

Year-to-Date sales breakdown by product category was as follows: 44% from core chips (CPU, MPU, chipsets), 32% from standard chips (logic, analog/linear, discrete and ASSP), 14% from memory chips (DRAM, SRAM, Flash, EEPROM), and 10% from others.
