Semiconductor Distributor - WPG (TSE:3702) Announces Jan-May Year 2006 Management Account Consolidated Pretax Net Income TW$619 million, Pretax EPS TW$0.89

WPG, the largest distributor of semiconductor components in Asia, posted management account consolidated sales of NT$45.404 billion for Jan-May 2006, representing a 7% y-o-y increase. Thanks to Group synergy benefit and well-managed product mix, consolidated gross profit margin rose to 5.66% for the first five months of Year 2006 from 5.1% for the same period Year 2005. Consolidated operating profit margin grew to 2.02% for Jan-May Year 2006. With profit growth surpassing sales growth, Jan-May management account consolidated pretax income achieved TW$619 million, accumulated pretax EPS TW$0.89, given common stock capital TW$6.932 billion.
